A tie-dye cupcake is an easy and vibrant treat to make. All you need is 1/3 cup of olive oil, three eggs, white cake mix, and 1 cup of water. Blend these ingredients in a mixer on low speed and gradually increase until the mixture changes to a white color. Evenly distribute the blended ingredients into five different bowls. Take five different food coloring containers, and squeeze three drops into each bowl. Mix each bowl with its corresponding spoon until the original white color is no longer visible. Pour each mixture in no particular order into the base of a silicone giant cupcake mold to achieve the tie-dye look. The new year has unfortunately brought new accusations of sexual abuse in schools and neighborhoods.  On March 1, a teacher in California was convicted of molestation, and on February 8^th, an Ohio man was charged with 20 counts of rape involving a 10-year-old. Since there has been so much coverage surrounding this news topic, I decided to comb through familywatchdog.us, a free database that lists registered sex offenders, to plot points using UMapper that shows convicted sexual predators who live on Long Island. According to Family Watchdog, there are 19,500 registered sex offenders in New York. There were over 15 people listed in Nassau County. I included 9 sex offenders that lived in different parts of Nassau County to show diversity in geographic location, while staying true to the importance of proximity.  Details are also an integral part of data visualization, which is why I included each offender’s address, race, age, height, and conviction information.
